And Lately...

Here's a taste of what's been happening in my world. There's still much to share, particularly of our new home...

Montreal Memories - Jean Paul Gaultier

One of the surprise highlights of our trip to Montreal was the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. I snapped only my favorite looks, but there was sooooo much to see from this amazing designer. Even the Mister was impressed!

Life...

I pinned this some time ago, and there is something particluarly poignant about so many of these words at the moment.

I've just been to visit my family in Perth to celebrate the 30th birthday of a very special person to me, my sister. In two weeks I'm be headed to the US to explore the cities of Chicago, Quebec, Montreal, Boston & New York. I have just resigned from an 'OK' contract role to take an exiciting permanent position, which I start the day after my holiday...jetlag, please be kind!

2011 as a year has been very good to me so far, but I do at times feel like I've bloody well earnt this happiness. In short, it's a work in progress this life of mine.

Weekend Wanderings

Today we took in 'Vienna' at NGV International - which was an amazingly diverse and inspiring exhibition. Follows of course by a quick coffee which stretched to a lovely lunch.

The Archibald Prize on tour at Tarra Warra

We went out to the Yarra Valley this morning and viewed the finalists and winner of this year's Archibald Prize.

Now in its 90th year, the Archibald Prize is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious art awards. JF Archibald’s primary aims were to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.

The winner, Ben Quilty's portrait of Margaret Olley.

And my favourite; Del Kathryn Barton's Mother [portrait of Cate] of Cate Blanchett & her sones.
